World Peace Days Celebration was started in November 2008 by New Beginning Ministries in Holiday, FL. The desire of the ministry was to tear down walls and build bridges allowing all spiritual paths to join with a common purpose of promoting peace, unity, and harmony for all people.
On World Peace Day we set the intention of living our lives as instruments of peace by laying our differences aside realizing we are each a unique expression of divinity. All participants in 2008 made the beautiful choice to let their life make a difference! Last year's event was an overwhelming success with over 17 religions of the world represented and widely attended by those with a heart for peace! It was a life changing day for over 500 people!
From that event and one Deepak Chopra offered called “Be the Change” a group right here in West Pasco has been formed which is attended by those of diverse religions. The “Be the Change” group has been meeting monthly since February 2009 and has adopted the World Peace Day Celebration as a way to reach out to others again this year.
A large group of spiritual leaders throughout the Tampa Bay area will each have an opportunity to share a prayer for Peace in Action, the highlight of the event. This year the event will be taking place in Sims Park by the Cotee River in historic downtown New Port Richey on Saturday, November 7, from 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
Vendors will offer a wide variety of natural, spiritual, ecological and environmental awareness products and services. The healing arts will be represented by various modalities such as chiropractic, energy healing, yoga and therapeutic massage.
Many well know musicians, bands and dancers will be donating their talents during the day. There will be handcrafted items by local artisans including jewelry, CDs, books, posters, ethnic art and other craft items.
Children’s entertainment will include face paintings, clowns, inflatablies, balloons and games. A variety of food vendors will also be on site.
The event is free and open to everyone. We invite you to bring lawn chairs, blankets and make plans to participate in an event which will impact our world with the spirit of Peace.
